The Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Program at The University of Texas at Austin proudly congratulates Khiloni Shah on the successful defense of her PhD dissertation, “Measurement of the ⁴⁰Ca(n,α)³⁷Ar Thermal Neutron Cross Section.”
Khiloni’s research used the UT TRIGA Mark II reactor to perform a cold neutron cross section measurement supporting underground nuclear explosion monitoring. Her work was supported by the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
After graduation, Khiloni plans to continue experimental research in fundamental nuclear data measurements and is continuing her work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UT Austin.
