The Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Program at The University of Texas at Austin proudly congratulates Clayton Hudson on the successful defense of his PhD dissertation, “Development of a Radioisotope Production Facility Using a Cryogenic Cooling System.”
Clayton’s research used a liquid helium cryogenic system to freeze irradiation targets next to the core of the UT TRIGA Mark II reactor. His work was supported by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the State of Texas.
After graduation, Clayton plans to continue experimental research in fundamental nuclear data measurements, nuclear forensics, and nuclear explosion monitoring. He is continuing his work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UT Austin and work at a national lab.
